54th Annual In Service training Institute
The In Service training Institute is a week of fellowship,
sharing, and learning sponsored by the Leadership Development Board of the
National Association of the Church of God with general offices in West
Middlesex, Pennsylvania. Born of a felt need to better train and equip church
leaders for greater effectiveness in church ministries, the Institute was
established in 1957 and housed in Knox Institute in Baltimore, Maryland. It is
the educational arm of the National Association.
Since 1979 the Institute has been held annually in July on the
beautiful campus of Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana. In a unique
academic setting the Institute offers a curriculum that includes a wide variety
of courses and subject matter. Our goal is to inform, instruct, and inspire
church leaders and others to excellence in church ministries.
To this end over eighty classes are offered for pastors,
ministers, church officers, teachers, children, youth, adult, and other
ministry leaders. Participants range from youth to senior adults, with fourteen
being the minimum age of acceptance. The instructional staff of more than
thirty persons, all highly qualified academically and through experience,
provide not only quality learning experiences but also share themselves beyond
the classroom with students. The Institute gives C.E.U. credit for the week's
learning experience.
Attendees register for classes on Saturday afternoon and
evening, and worship at area churches on Sunday morning. An orientation session
is followed by a vesper service Sunday afternoon. Classes begin Monday through
Friday at 8 a.m. On Friday evening at the closing ceremony all participants are
awarded certificates for the week's classroom participation.

Attendance at I.S.T.I. can be a life-challenging experience.
The fellowship is rich, the fun is great. Friendships are developed for life.
Come to I.S.T.I. It is a place where one can be charged, challenged and changed
spiritually.
